Breastfeeding Someone Other’s Child

These days I have read an interesting story. In one hospital in the USA a mother got a wrong child for the breastfeeding. The nurse has brought someone else’s baby for the breastfeeding of one nursing lady. As soon as this fact became known a big scandal started. A lady is demanding 30.000 dollars from the hospital for this mistake. It should be noted that no negative consequences connected with well-being and health of a lady and child did not take place.

As soon as I read this article I thought “what the difference?” Used to there were no restrictions to the child’s breastfeeding and a mother could give her child to another nursing mother if the first one had some problems with lactation. Somehow this experience has been stopped practicing and now each woman is totally against to breastfeed some else’s baby.

Frankly speaking, I do not see much problem in nursing another child. If I know that a lady has some problems with health and can’t breastfeed her child normally and I have too much of milk, why not to help one more child to grow up healthy and strong? I do not see a big problem in it. I don’t think that mother’s milk can be useful for one child and harmful for another one. This is ridiculous.

Breastfeeding in Public Is not a Problem when you Have Nursing Top

Breastfeeding in Public Is not a Problem when you Have Nursing TopWhen you are pregnant you start looking at clothes completely differently. As for me, a lot of things which I really loved to wear some months ago are really uncomfortable for me now. Of course I bough them when I was not pregnant, that is why they are not good for me now. As a result I became to think about some special clothes for pregnant or nursing mothers.

I was browsing in the internet and saw a wonderful thing. It is called a “nursing undershirt” (breastfeeding top). It is amazing. This is like a simple shirt but with special cuts for nursing opportunity. It gives a mother an opportunity not to wear the nursing bra tank and to return to her pre-pregnancy clothes. This top can be greatly worn under any clothes you wish to put on.

Swing Breast Pump. Comfortable and Easy Expression

ISwing Breast Pumpf continue speaking about useful things for nursing moms, a very important thing is a pump for milk expression. I have found one.

This is a Swing Breast Pump, which I believe is very necessary thing for every family with an infant. It is very comfortable in using. I have read the description of this product and I should say it is amazing, how simple things can make easier women’s life.

This pump is specially created for busy mums. It has an interesting option which is called “Two-Phase Expression” with the help of which the time of expression is gradually reduced.

It is rather compact as its dimensions are rather small. The construction of the pump gives a mother a possibility of comfortable using and will make the experience of expressing rather positive. This pump will always supply fresh and tasty milk for the baby. If speaking about safety, the Swing Breast Pump is made out of a safe material which is recommended for this very type of products.

I believe that each mother has to have such a thing at home. Even if she is breastfeeding her baby, she should have it for different cases which can happen.

Advices to Bottle Feeding with Breastmilk

There is nothing extremely bad in bottle feeding with breastmilk. But if because of some reasons a woman can’t breastfeed her child and has to use bottle feeding with breastmilk, she should know how to do it correctly.

Expressing breastmilk is not an easy thing. Here are some tips which every mother has to know:

  1. Breastmilk expression can be maintained by three means. They are: by hand, by breast pump and by electric pump.
  2. If you have some problems with expressions do not be afraid to ask for advice or professional help. This is not as easy as it seems, you have to learn doing it correctly.
  3. Express the same number of time, as you give bottle feeding with breastmilk to your child. This will help to maintain the supply of your breastmilk.
  4. Do not forget to express breastmilk at night as well. You have to do it each four hours at least during the first several months. Moreover the hormone which is responsible for lactation is in its peak quantity at night (from 00 to 4 am.)
  5. If your baby wishes to get more bottle feeding with breastmilk, you have to express your breastmilk more often.

Baby Breast Feeding. AAP Says to Breastfeed Children

I have just read an interesting article which only once more proves the necessity of baby breast feeding for a mother and a child. So, this is what I have read in the newspaper:

American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has announces its new recommendations. The aim of these recommendations is to forward the baby breast feeding, because the value of this product is much higher than the values of different infant formulas. With this announcement AAP has changed its point of view to baby breast feeding which has been existing since 1982. It the new recommendations AAP says that:

  1. Baby breast feeding should be provided to a child for not less than 12 months and even longer (if both a mother and a child want it).
  2. The nursing should be started as soon as possible after delivery of a child. The greatest variant is when the period between the birth and the first baby breast feeding is lees than an hour.
  3. Infants should be fed on demand at the first sign of hunger, such as: anxiety, agitation, opening of the mouth or something like this (rather than waiting for a late sign of hunger, such as crying).
  4. If direct baby breast feeding is not possible, the child should be breastfed with expressed breast milk.
  5. In the first 24-48 hours after the child’s birth, an experienced and trained specialist should help a mother with baby breast feeding. The specialist also has to visit the nursing mother at home within 48-72 hours after discharge.
