esterday, my friend told me about her thoughts that her breastmilk was harmful for her baby. Herchild sleeps badly and is crying for long hours after breastfeeding, so she supposes that this is because she has bad breastmilk. An interesting fact is that her baby is much more quite and calm when he is fed with formula.
I started to think, is there such a concept as bad breastmilk? I searched a bit in the internet and understood that there is no bad breastmilk in nature. Mother’s milk is the healthiest food which a baby can get; it contains all the necessary elements which are responsible for the health and well-being of a baby. So, breastmilk can’t be harmful, it is nonsense.
The reason for such a behavior of a baby can be mother’s diet (as my friend worries about her weigh much and tries to loose it as soon as possible). I think that because of her diet she does not have bad breastmilk, but her milk is not nutritious enough. Her baby might be hungry and that’s why he is crying and he is nervous. As the same quantity of formula is more nutritious the baby feels satisfied and behaves calmer. I have found the same opinions in the internet forums. Now I am trying to persuade my friend to refuse from any diets, to stop thinking about bad breastmilk and to provide normal breastfeeding for her baby.
