Many mothers find the arranging of breastfeeding schedule as one of the most confusing things in nursing. Lots of people give different recommendations and advices, but none of them really helps much. From all what I have found, there are only some recommendations which can become useful for moms:
- Some mothers think that the best demonstration of baby’s hunger is when he cries. But it is wrong. Crying is the late sign of hunger and it shows that the baby has been demanding food for a rather long period already. So, arranging your breastfeeding schedule, do not wait until your baby cries, start nursing him when he shows the first signs, such as: opening his mouth, showing sucking movements etc.
- Do not try to make some certain breastfeeding schedule for your baby. This process is very individual and only a child knows how much and how often he has to eat. The hours which can seem nice for your breastfeeding, can appear to be completely inappropriate for your child. Remember: the breastfeeding schedule should be comfortable not so much for you as for your baby.
